Laboratory Technician

This position is located at our Forbes Field Office in Topeka, KS until December 2019. At that time, the KDA Lab will relocate to Manhattan, KS. This position will remain open until the position is filled. 

Job Summary:

This individual will serve as support personnel for Dairy, Micro, and Feed and Fertilizer. In the Dairy/Micro Lab this individual will be responsible for taking daily temperatures, setting-up supplies for testing, sample receiving, creating test kits for micro testing, prepare media for both Dairy and Micro, make dilutions biweekly, and assist with both Dairy/Micro during testing of samples. Finally, the individual will complete all KIS tests on submitted carcass samples.

Within the Feed and Fertilizer Lab, this individual will be responsible for performing moisture and fiber testing according to established Standard Operating Procedures. This includes sample preparation, sample analysis, review of data, and final reporting

Salary: $31,200/year

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in laboratory procedures/analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Valid Driver’s License
